Al Colegio

Hoy fuimos al colegio, empiezan a las ocho y terminan a las dos o tres. El colegio es muy diferente, y los alumnos no llevan uniforme.

Primero, fuimos al Ayuntamiento y nos encontramos con la alcaldesa de La Vall, una chica de 26 años, habló con nosotras durante media hora, y sacamos un foto juntos. Luego, visitamos el mercado, fue interesante y muy animado y bebimos un cola cao o un café, luego volvimos al colegio por el descanso. Después, jugamos a los deportes con los españoles. ¡Fue fenomenal! Jugamos al baloncesto, ping pong, voleibol y a bigbol-es como el fútbol. Los deportes fueron muy divertidos porque jugábamos con muchos niños españoles y al principio, fue difícil comunicar, pero al final, charlamos mucho. Por la tarde volvimos a casa con nuestras parejas, a comer, y para una siesta porque teníamos mucho sueño, y además hacía mucho calor-unos 27 grados. ¡Qué bien!

Today, we went to school. School starts at 8 and finishes at 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It's very different and the students don't wear uniform. Firstly, we went to see the Mayor of La Vall, A young woman of 26 years of age. She talked to us for about half an hour and we had some photos taken together for the local newspaper. (In previous years, we often appear in the paper and on the news). Afterwards, we all went to the market, where we ate Churros and had a wander around the market stalls. We had a a cola cao (Spanish version of Cadburys Hot Chocolate) or a coffee, and then returned to school for breaktime.  After break, we played sports with the Spanish Students. It was fantastic! We played basketball, table tennis, vollyball and 'Big Ball' - A Spanish version of football. Playing sports with the Spanish was really food because even though at the beginning, it was difficult to communicate, by the end, we were able to chat to each other. In the afternoon, we returned home with our partners to eat and to have a siesta because we were so sleepy from the heat (27 degrees) Fabulous!

Me gustó mucho mi experencia en la clase de informática con mi pareja del intercambio. Fue un poco díficil para mí porque hablan en valenciano pero no obstante fue interesante. Fue más relajante que las clases en Inglaterra así que es diferente en mí opinion. Hizo calor y sol - el tiempo es mucho mejor que en Inglaterra. ¡En general, el día fue fabuloso!

I really liked going to my partners ICT class with her. It was difficult to understand, as many of the classes are taught in Valencian. Nevertheless, it was very interesting. Classes were a lot more laid back and relaxed than classes in the UK and were very different. It was hot and sunny all day- much nicer than in England! Overall, a fabulous day!

Me levanté a Las siete y desayuné. Comí cereales con leche, Como en Inglaterra. El colegio empieza a Las ocho y fui a pie con mi pareja. El colegio es muy grande y completamente diferente. Hay mucha gente, pero todo el mundo es muy simpático. Nos quedamos al colegio y charlamos unos 30 minutos. Después, fuimos al ayuntamiento y encontramos la alcaldesa nueva, era muy joven-26 años, y también, era muy agradable. Ha dicho que volvamos cuando queremos. Entonces, fuimos al Mercado, habían muchas tiendas que se vendían ropa. Comí churros, un desayuno muy típico en España. Los churros eran muy sabrosos. Regresamos al colegio un poco más tarde y tuvimos una presentación sobre Valencia y vimos los sitios que vamos a visitar este semana. Después, jugamos los deportes en el patio con los españoles, fue muy divertido. Algunas alumnas fueron a clases, a Frances, a biologia y algunas descansaron en el sol. Fue un día fenomenal.

I got up at seven and had breakfast. I ate cereals, like in the UK. School started at 8 and I went on foot with my partner, The school was very big and completely different with lots of students. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. We stayed at school and chatted for about half an hour about our first night with our partners, what we had had for tea, and our first impressions of Spain, and then went to the Town Hall to meet the new Mayor. She was lovely, and told us that we would always be welcome back to La Vall whenever we wanted! Then, we went to the Market, where there were many different stalls- clothes, fruit and veg, local delicacies, and Churros! I had some churros, a typical Sunday morning breakfast (The Spanish Full English!) They were so tasty! We returned to school a little later on and watched a presentation all about Valencia, which we are going to visit later this week. We then went outside into the playground, where we played sports with the Spanish students. Some of us then went to some classes- to French and Biology, whilst others continued doing PE with the Spanish students.
